Enterpreneurship and junior enterprises about Biotechnology: a contribution in the professional development of students from the Universidade Federal de Viçosa.

Universidade Federal de Viçosa has advanced substantially in supporting enterpreneurship and the interaction university-enterprise. The institution counts with an Enterprises' Incubator, a future Technological Park, at an early stage, and a Central of Junior Enterprises. By definition, junior enterprise is a civil association of students with non-profit interests. Nowadays, 23 junior enterprises (JEs) are settled down in the campus of the university, many of these well-successful enterprises, competing in the market of enterprises outside the campus. The enhancement of the Junior Enterprises Movement in Brazil, together with the Biotechnology development which has pushed JEs' formation related to this science in different institutions in the country. In Bio and Tecnomol, JEs from the courses of Biological Science and Biochemical Bachelor from UFV, respectively, born with the goal of motivated the enterprising ability of the students from these courses, providing them with an opportunity of practicing their enterprising professional skill in the academical field. Through this context, this work had as goal to measure the importance that students from the courses cited above give to the enterpreneurship and to the JEs in their own professional formation, as well as students' interests towards these JEs. Seventy nine interviewed students from both courses, including directors, associated and non-associated members of the referred JEs have answered the a questionnaire of seven questions: five out of these seven are related to the enterprise and JEs' contribution in their careers, and two questions concerning to students' interests towards the JEs. The majority of the interviewed students has considered very important or fundamental JE and entrepreneurship's participation in their professional formation. This data supports the observation which conveys that 64.6% of the students related to the JEs has shown interest in get involved in them. On the other hand, 39,3% of the interviewed students has shown related to these JEs, suggesting a distance between the enterprising intention and students' performance in this field. Our group of students has had the initiative of the motivation of the enterprising spirit in the students of the courses of Biological Science and Biochemical Bachelor from UFV. However, our results show us that this initiative is a constant challenge.
